MMDA Footbridge at Alabang

Traffic jam been always the problem in Alabang Public Market area, especially during rush hours where people and vendors are all in place adding up the illegal parking of vehicle there.
This first quarter of year 2010 the construction of MMDA Footbridge was already finished and been using already this early April 2010.
“I hope the public will cooperate and make use of this footbridge once it is erected. After all, their safety and convenience is always our primary consideration in constructing structures such as this,” according to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Bayani Fernando as he leads groundbreaking ceremony of the Alabang – Montillano footbridge last November 5, 2009.


The footbridge serves for the pedestrian that crosses from public market to other side or from public market going to Montillano area.
It is made up of five spans and eight exit/entry stairs at Jollibee centro– terminal, public market, south station and to national road going north. It is the next biggest footbridge to be constructed by the MMDA after Bicutan with a total length of the structure is 295.0 meters
The footbridge is leads to enhance pedestrian safety, improve travel speed / time and the operational safety of the transport system, and further promote the usage of public transport.
